I believe that the web industry, which sits at the confluence of information technologies and social forces, has the power to express deep truths that are now for the first time available to the most forward-looking of organisations. Featured project: Diarie

Diarie is a private diary app with a twist: scan your QR code and you can unlock access on any device. Featuring private image uploads and a gorgeous interface, Diarie started out as a single-user site—a present to a friend. It is currently running in demo-only mode, so feel free to create a 1 hour account and try it out for yourself, or check out the code.

My central competencies include:

• Client-side web technologies - HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• NodeJS and JavaScript frameworks such as Express
• Ruby and Ruby frameworks such as Ruby on Rails, Sinatra and Roda
• Relational databases such as PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, and
• Docker and dockerising all of the above.

In particular, I pride myself on leveraging emerging in-browser APIs to create cutting-edge experiences - see my multilingual speech recognition library Speakie (SpeechRecognition and SpeechSynthesis APIs) or cellular automaton simulation Smooth (WebAssembly API).
